Description
Generation Rent; the implications for public policy
In this session, Peter Kemp, professor of public policy in the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, will present his latest thinking on Generation Rent and its implications for public policy. He will clarify what is meant by generation rent; place its emergence in both historical and international perspective; consider whether it is likely to be a temporary phase or the ‘new normal’; and discuss its implications for public policy in England.
Through attending this session, you will be better able to:
-
understand the nature and characteristics of Generation Rent;
-
identify its consequences for households that rent their homes; and
-
consider its implications for public policy.
The Policy Profession and The Blavatnik School of Government, in partnership with the Leadership Academy, will continue to deliver the Blavatnik School in Whitehall masterclasses. These events are an opportunity for you to engage with leading academics and discuss the practical application of their research on policy making. This masterclass is suitable for SCS from any profession.
